RTE want interviewees for news piece about RTS

Read the rest of my posts before you jump to the conclusion that i've been here just to slag hippies. I came here, cause i heard there was talk abt what happened yesterday. So far i've stated my opinion on what i've seen of the pictures taken, and the comments made here... as i have the right to do.

as for my spelling, well take a look at your fellow posters and tell me that their spelling is any better. lol... i know the name manson, but when i tried to spell it i drew a blank... guess that never happens to you... hah.

Personally i really detest the amount of scumbags that are coming onto this site, slagging off hippies, and people who are 'different' or 'offensive'.These people are individuals.And maybe you should note for future reference that 'marlyn manson' is actually spelled 'marilyn manson'- funny that- seems only seconds ago you illiterate bastards were slagging off hippies for being tree-hugging, mind-dulled-by-hashish 'twats....

Take what you can. At least the gardai didn't use rubber bullets or water cannons. At least then you'd be on the same level as the other protestors in Europe. They would probably laugh at you if you tried to describe what the gardai had done is too aggressive.

Those street protesters had it coming to them... half of them are tree hugging hippies... you can't go around smashing cars and letting off smoke bombs in the street... if you do the guards are right to smash you over the head with a baton... to protect the rest of us...

i reckon those protesters are actually angry about something else in their lives... that and they want to have a bit of craic and an ould riot...

by all means... have a peaceful protest... chant all you like... but when it's time to move on you move on....

up the guards!!!

RTE led with the story on the 1 oclock bulletin. Minister wants full investigation etc. To be fair this was a very anti-garda report. They showed footage of cops going ballistic, and very clearly without tags, something the opposition are asking arkward questions about apparantly. They interviewed one chap who did very well, talking about helping kids into ambulances. The presenter said that the Gardai themselves aggrivated the situation.

A cop was wheeled out to say how terrible the incident was and want all witnesses and evidence to be produced.... But they still claim it was a 'volent street protest', but they are back peddling.

There is a lesson here in using the corporate/state media without relying on them. Passers by got creamed and were jamming the switchbords of the radio shows. An elederly guy was particularily pissed off as Pearse St Pigs refused to take his complaint. We should try to connect with that anger.

From the pictures shown on this site, the participants to the march don't seem like they're good representatives for your "reclaim".

The thing with the car, and that guy "dressed" up as marlyn manson, generally look like they're beaking the law.

I dont live in the clouds, I made a suggestion as to an alternative to speaking to the media (ie printing up leaflets , face to face contact with people or video screenings). Im not suggesting people sit on their arses (and watch TV (yawn!))

You think it will make a good ad for the next one?? I dont think so, just look at reclaim the streets in england the media coverage (and albeit limited contact of rts with the media) simply scarred people away from attending the events.

RTE will just make RTS look like aliens and the result will be the public will be alienated from the whole thing (you honestly RTE will put a positive spin on the thing......

The revolution wont be televised (yawn).

people would be better off printing up 10,000 leaflets (a simple task for all you computer nerds) and delivering them to the people then providing a quirky news item for some journo scum:

however no doubt lots of people will ring up and talk to this gee bag but its really not worth it in the long run!!!!

rts isnt a "news" item its much more real(shit dare I say immediate) than that

These people are all worthless hippys. Why can't they get jobs? I dont want to see them on TV. And nobody cares about their views.
