There was a good turnout yesterday for the annual May day parade in Belfast. The march began just after 11.00 from Belfast Art College, and made its way to St George's market. There was a good atmosphere all round probably helped by the fine weather, and music which ranged from the drum beat to the bagpipe. Anarchists from the Anarchist Federation Ireland and the Anarcho-Syndicalist Federation distributed copies of their respective bulletins -Resistance! and Solidarity -both before and after the march, on which the ASF unveiled an impressive new May day banner. At St. George's market afterwards, there was food, drink, music and stalls selling the literature of the different political organisations involved in the day's events. All in all, a fine day out. Jump To Comment: 1Sounds like you'se had much better fun in Belfast than we had with our fiasco of a May Day March. Also sounds like it was much better organised. Belfast shows the way! Ps. I head that Mick O'Reilly was on the Belfast May Day Rally? Is this true?
