To mark the anniversary of the abortion referendum, a photo op has been organised for:
11am at the Dáíl on March 6th with our now famous X t-shirts.
We are looking for as many women as possible to turn out. One year on-nothing's changed.
September is the 20th anniversary of the Eighth amendment and we hope to mark this with a significant event.
As always, your ideas, suggestions and comments are always welcome.
Thanks
Richie.

So you guys are interested in killing innocent children ? ? Go join the RAF and/or USAF
told u not to put this up on indymedia- too many sexists and mad catholics...

The above post is just typical of the author. Not content with supporting the activities of terrorists in Northern Ireland, he/she now wishes to kill human beings even before they get the opportunity to be born.
"abort all fools" I'm afraid the only posturing may be in the anti-war campagin. The demostrations and 'direct actions' certainly get attention but have only the tinyest chance of having any impact on whether their will be war or not. But I'm sure they all feel better about themselves.
At least the Alliance for Choice are is working to deal head on with a real issue that is within the power of the Irish people to change.
Scratch an ultra-leftest and you will find a Misogynist.
To whom it may concern,
A campaigning lobby group has been set up within the Labour Party on abortion

Labour Abortion Reform.
If you knew me the you would know whether i am male or female. Therefore how can you say that the above posts are typical of mine when I rarely post on indymedia and have never commented on politics in the north here either?!
Why can't you write your real name- coward.
An abortion was certainly in order for you. Were your parents related?
Sexist git.
Even though it escaped from the abortion bucket at birth I propose that we immediately abort King Mob to stop any future generations of King Mobs (Aaaaaggghhhh).
The usual off the wall and weird stuff from an equally weird weiro and freak who most people on IMC Ireland don't like. Just ignore guys and girls.
i think queen mob & redmond both were raised in artifical wombs a la Brave New World. deprived of ooxygen & nutrients , they ended up as epsilons.
Instead of talking about abortion, how about dealing with the issues as to why women feel that they are "forced" to get them in the first place.
This state's sexual education programme is a joke, the majority of people don't feel comfortable enough to talk about safe sex or the pill with their children so we are left with an entire generation of uneducated women, and even less educated men.
Another reason for people having abortions is because they feel that they can't afford them, this should NEVER be a reason for an abortion, yet it is.
The government should face up to it's neglect of it's "people" and pay for thease women to have pre natal care and to set up a proper adoption service for those who do not wish to raise the child themselves.
These are the reasons, I beleive, why 95% of women have abortions.
Rape an Incest is another matter and I don't want to get into that now.
If the peole in this country were educated enough, if the age of consent was lowered to a realistic 16, if condoms and the pill were freely available to all, if the catholic church stopped trying to tell people that sex before marraige and contraception were "the work of the devil", this country would be a long way towards not needing to have the abortion debate.
