signs and notes from the demo today in San Francisco

-street theater: "The Blood Executives" -- several young men in business suits with very realistic gory blood dripping down their faces, saying to the crowds of marchers in calm tones -- "Everything is fine. Go home now. Everything is fine." Chillingly effective.

-Lots of signs made use of duct tape ("Homeland Security" prescribed it during Terror Alerts), as in "Duct tape for Peace" with Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld (or Colin Powell) with gags of tape.

-Lots of Guernica (covered by BushCo at UN for Powell's war-speak), at least one excellent full-size banner lovingly reproduced.
