Former UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq Denis Halliday is travelling around Ireland speaking at Anti-War meetings at present. If you get the opportunity go see him. He is inspiring and a great public speaker and source of information on the situation in Iraq at present. I transcribed this poem from my videotape of his talk in Clontarf last week. He wrote it last week on the train from Galway to Dublin. Audience hooted and hollered over the RTE reference. Big crowd at the meeting too.
George W. talking to Laura over Breakfast

Don’t Mention the Oil
We’re fighting because this war is Just
Rumsfelt and Cheney say so
And we must
Stand up to agression
And Evil Axes
From which we recoil
My cause is this
To liberate the suffering people of Iraq
They don’t want us?
Who said that?
Victory will vindicate our illegal pre-emptive act
Pipelines, control and occupation
Depleted uranium and tactical nuclear weapons we’ll employ
Democracy, International Law, Freedom
Not relevant
Tony and me cannot be expected not to act
Just because Iraq is packed
With that stuff the media may not mention
So pay attention RTE et al
And don’t mention the oil
