Boys want war, girls say no way Jose

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Tuesday February 04, 2003 22:54author by student

There was an interesting item on the 10 o clock news on channel 4 last night about attitudes among male and female students in a school in England.

Most of the boys were gleefully in favour of war with Iraq and Most gitls were against it. From talking to my classmates it is the same here. The second part is on tonight at 10.

P.S.Dont let the bullies drive the women away from Shannon. This is supposed to be a democracy. Be brave and dont run away, the politicans are exposing their contempt for the ruled. Dont be scared off or we will never be able to protest again without a threat to use the soldiers to repress dissent. What is the difference between this and dictatorship against the people?

It shows the fragmented approach of modern education.

Sure, like Michael D Higgins, and Madeline Albright or Maggie Thatcher!

Children are brainwashed from they are young infants into folowing the traits and expected behaviour of their sex.

Some progress has been made in attitudes towards not giving boys guns and girls dolls, etc, but I fear we are only at the start of a long road towards treating all children equally and in a way that allows them to develop fully as human beings.

Of course they do.

Boys love the idea of action and violence, while girls have a romantic view of the world. Girls play with Barbie, but do you think boys play with Ken? No it's GI Joe.

This even extends to their adult life - yes in reality, they may speak from a more educated and practical viewpoint (e.g. regarding real war) so the division breaks down - but which wants to watch Bruce Willis, and which prefers Meg Ryan?

at the cashier desk was
an "action man" toy.
The doll was astride a dolphin.
They made a military combination with rockets and saddle and high tech toys.
By Christmas Eve they had sold out.
25€.

Less than a days journey from that discount supermarket they were photographing dolphins on the beaches of Galizia covered in Oil.

I particularly recommend number 6 of these "say it strong" photos.
"Un delfino ucciso dal petrolio sulla spiaggia di Nemina" (Reuters)
i told you the dolphins were well fucked off when the first report of Prestige was made here, i gave you the exact co-ordinates and all base data used by Greenpeace and the French state thereafter.
I am not a journalist.
and i do go on.
