Watch a Government Minister admit to Dan Hannan that the Covid vaccines did not prevent transmission, prompting Hannan to ask: "So why the hell did we force them on to young people? Why did we insist on vaccine passports?"

All around the world airports are being built and enlarged in countries which appear to realise the 'climate crisis' is just a load of nonsense. But not in poor, gullible Britain.

The local election results are as terrible for the Conservatives as feared and thanks to Reform they would have been lucky to have had only a 1997-style wipeout, says veteran pollster John Curtice.

Carrickminders Say The Fight Is Not Over

Today 3 February 2003 two Carrickminders, Vincent Salafia and Gordon Lucas,
made an appearance in the High Court, in an action for trespass brought by Dun
Laoghaire County Council. Both Carrickminders consented to vacate Carrickmines
Castle and gave undertakings that they would not return for the life of the
order.

Today's proceedings did not directly address the critical fact that Dun
Laoghaire Rathdown County Council still has plans to destroy a major National
Monument, without having received the consent of the Minister of the
Environment or the joint houses of the Oíreachtas, as is required by the
National Monuments Act.

Carrickminders occupation over the last five months has succeeded in garnering
support of political figures such as Pronsias De Rossa, MEP, Patricia McKenna,
MEP, and Victor Boyan, PD for Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown District.

The two EU Complaints, An Bord Planála and Flood Tribunal will continue to
investigate the sequence of events that has led to the imminent illegal
destruction of a National Monument. Carrickminders will continue to monitor
the situation and sponsor public events to raise awareness of the current
crisis.

Carrickminders see today's result as a victory. We have succeeded in bringing
the situation into the national and international spotlight. In addition, we
have ensured that an unfinished excavation was brought closer to completion
using Non-Violent Civil Disobedience. The dig is still unfinished

Gordon and Vincent will continue the fight to save Carrickmines Castle, which
is just beginning.
They will be calling a public meeting in Dun Laoghaire in the near future, and
traveling the country to reinforce that fact that Carrickmines Castle can still
be saved. The Carrickminders believe that the integrity of all archaeology in
the country depends on the outcome of this dispute.

here´s a link to uk indymedia today
archeologists against the war.
I like the writers mention of how a political agenda is often borne by archeologists in justifying the political present.

I think after living at the castle for five months (lovely as ye's made it it still smelt like mouse poo) that everyone deserves a celebration of a battle hard fought, that did achieve an awful lot, despite the difficulties that the core group came up against. Fair play, I hope ye all enjoy some top class central heating.
