but tidy up the site, almost nothing on Nice or older campaigns can be located
We'll try our best, we'll also have makeover tips, sex tips on how to guess what kind of protestor guy turns you on, horror stories such as "I left the black bloc because they wouldn't let me co-ordinate"......
Leave please, your presence is making me ill....
I have convinced most of the girls in my college to check out indymedia. All the Rage Against The Machine and System of a Down fans thought it was cool, but there are too many mad little groups on it all the time, so most of my friends have stopped looking at it anymore. I still like it but if you want to reach out you will need more youth culture, more statements from cool 'political' musicans and less statements from uncool phoney all talk and no action little groups.
Just to say a big thanks to all those who put in the work and effort to make indymedia happen both in Ireland and abroad. In many ways it has become a focus for constructing a different world that so many people dream about.
Despite some sectarian comments and cyber arguments, the site is still very important to establishing a sense of 'community' and base for identity amongst all those of us who are continually trying to figure out and solve some of the problems of the world we live in.
once again thanks a million, keep up the good work, and be sure to give each other a pat on the back now and again.
You can see the server statistics for indymedia.ie at http://www.indymedia.ie/WWW_REPORTS/www.html .
However remember that, because story pages are produced on the fly by the CGI script, these numbers might not be the most accurate. There are also VAST diferences (i.e. 10 times) during significant events such as the Gardaí RTS riot and the Nice Treaty referendum.
When theres a big story we get thousands of hits a day, when it's a slow newsweek we get a few hundred.
We've excited our bandwiwth limitations on at least three weeks, we've hit 10,000 plus during article 133 debate, in the week leading up to Nice.
What's good(ish) is alot of mainstream journalists are using the site.
Any idea of how many different people are viewing this site?
