Tallaght Anti War Public Meeting

The Irish Anti War Movement are holding a public meeting in the Abberly Court hotel, Tallaght, this evening at 8:00 p.m. Speakers include Sean Crowe TD Sinn Fein, Cllr Don Tipping Labour Party, Donal McCarry SWP and Mick Murphy SP. The meeting aims to launch an Anti War campaign in the Tallaght area, with special emphasis in bulding for the Feb 15th worldwide day of protest. Labour on the band wagon

I was at the meeting last night, it was fairly small but it was good to meet some anti-war people in the area. Sean Crowe (Sinn Féin TD), Mick Murphy (SP) and Donal McCarry (SWP) spoke at the meeting. Don Tipping from the Labour party was standing outside the room at about 7.50 (meeting started at 8.00) but then amazingly he left before the meeting got going and didn't even say a word to anyone! I presume he say the small size of the crowd and decided that this particular band-wagon wasn't big enough for him to pretend he is against the war and not just looking for votes.
