15th Feb Protests too late to make any difference?

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday January 22, 2003 11:47author by Eamonn Crudden

This Reuters Report indicates Mid-Feb has already been decided on for an attack by US/UK

Russia's armed forces have obtained information that the United States and its allies have already decided to launch military action in Iraq from mid-February, news agency Interfax said on Wednesday. The agency's specialist military news wire AVN, quoting an unnamed high-ranking source in the Russian general staff, said U.S.-led operations would be launched once an attacking force of 150,000 had been assembled in the Gulf.

Well the protests at shannon might not stop the war from occuring, but if a war does start before the demo at shannon on the 15th, perhaps there would be a greater turnout, especially if people start to realise that the munitions and soldiers doing the killing are moving through shannon. Many people have said war is inevitable, and if it is, then we can't just stop protesting, that will be the time for all those opposed to war to unite and stop the refuelling, that will be the time for direct action. Q. How many Irish anti war protesters does it take to dismantle a hercules?
