Okay grasp this. Zero Gardaí injured, zero complaints about the protestors from members of the public. What exactly is your definition of a peaceful protest?
A group of slack jawed zombies gripping placards and mumbling hack SWP phrases?
A group of several thousand farmers in tractors? Like cause hey if 2000 tractors want to do anything theres little our Gardaí can do about it.
So essentially your attitude is stupid "conform even when you're protesting againist the status quo"
Well, it was a relief to see that all the Gardai on duty had their full lapel IDs - they seem to have learnt that much from Reclaim the Streets and they did behave themselves while the south city centre ground to a halt for a bunch who appear to have plenty of free-time for protesting.
Luke, I hope Reclaim the Streets do learn something from the farmers - get, say, 500 buses, clog up the city centre and main routes into the city on a working day, have one of the main arterial routes across the city sealed off for most of the day and then have a huge street party outside government buildings. All with full Garda co-operation. Of course!
So the Gardai didn't baton charge the farmers. I'm sure they felt like they had an opportunity to. As far as reasons for a baton charge I'm sure the Gardai are well able to find some section under the public order act to go for it. Well maybe it's just for all the RTS people and anyone remotley against a system which breeds inequality. But good idea with the buses. If farmers can do it then those not belonging to rural idiocracy can surely take part. Someone's gonna get on at me about that last little dig aren't they. Any takers?
If reclaim the streets don t to live by the rules. Why should the Gardai. If you’s don t like the government and the rules of the state why don’t you’s move to a country that you’s do like. 99 % of the country do want to live by these rules (1% is the criminal element in this country and a few students with to much time on there hands(reclaim the streets)). “Like cause hey if 2000 tractors want to do anything theres little our Gardaí can do about it.” That what you’s where saying about the Gardaí before last May. And they showed you’s what they could do to stop your protest last may. It didn’ take long for them long to move you’s of dame street. By the way do you’s cover your face’s and where hoods on a sunny day like last May in Dame st.
The AA said yesterday that there was minimal or no disruption made by the farmers protest. The farmers used bus lanes to travel through the city. That’s what happens when you co-operate with the system.
I think this says it all “What a bunch of wankers you lot are”
And when I and my pals got here they said. "can you stop the World Bank meeting here, because we the ordinary people of Barcelona don´t want it here, and we don´t want to be associatd through our shite leaders with global poverty, lies, famine, war and robbery. And we said yes. And you know the World Bank thought about it and cancelled thier meeting in 2001. The only time that a world institution has done so. Now Barcelona says "recuperem els carrers!" and "altre mon es possible!" and lots of other very wide bandwagon things.
There is room for you to Luke.
At the end of the day the Gardaí wont stop global war or chem war or bio war. nor can we. (I´ve already used up all my vacine allocation so can´t offer you any).
