Valencia anarchists were illegaly arrested and imprisoned earlier this autumn just before the Italian incident.
The Italian incident prompted cross party and full spectrum support from intellectuals calling for the preservation / return of deomcratic rights of free association and expression, which have been systematically attacked by both Berlusconi in Italy and Aznar in Spain and Bush worldwide.
