The Al Qaeda folks are attacking the US (which supports Israel) because presumably they don't feel strong enough to attack Israel directly?

And this is supposed to help them? They are going to frighten the US? They will hit the US and the US will be hurt and the repsonse to being hurt will be "OK, whatever you say, we'll stop aiding Israel, please don't hit us any again."

That's like being stung by a bee and finding the nearest hornet nest and giving it a swift kick.
