Socialist Party at Forum for Peace and Reconciliation

Noticed in the Irish Times there yesterday, that the Socialist Party chose to attend the opening sessions of the so called "Forum for Peace and Reconciliation". True, Sinn Fein also chose not to attend but what reasons can the SP give for their attendance, other that they have a TD in the Dail. What good is there coming from this talk shop unless it is a opportunity to give a socialist viewpoint?
