Fascist stickers appearing in Cork city

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday November 22, 2002 18:32author by Cork SWPauthor email corkswp at yahoo dot com Report this post to the editors

Notice to activists in Cork, just after noticing fascist stickers that have been stuck round Parnell Place and at the top of Wintrop Street from NSRUS.com (the Irish nazi outfit – acronym means “National Socialists R Us”- how original). Keep an eye out for them elsewhere and take them down, managed to scrap a few off some lamp-posts etc. Classic Irish nazi slogans “Say No to a Black Ireland” etc etc. Thanks Eugene Cork SWP

don't think that last comment is funny at all. Don't start a troll or the any of the usual stuff about the SWP avoiding issues etc please. I wanted to notify anti-fascists in Cork to the fact that some chancers are putting this stuff up. OK.

The stickers in question have been appearing in Limerick for some time and comrades have an idea of a couple of the people involved. Head bangers mainly but an eye is being kept on them.

This is not a sectarian attack. I'm just curious because I've heard groups criticise the SWP over it. It concerns the SWPs characterisation of facists.

It goes like this: Haider=Hitler, Pim Fortyun=Haider, ergo Pim Fortuyn=Hitler.

I believe a correct characteristion of all groups and especially those you are fighting like fascist is of vital importance. I'd hope the SWP wouldn't just use these slogans in a opportunistic way.

Those stickers can be downloaded from the NSRUS site, making it handy for people to print them out.
There is also another character (or maybe the same one) who has been giving out holocaust revisionist stuff in UCC. He seems to be a lone nut though.
Keep up the good work in remvoing the stickers, don't mind morons like the one above.

I removed one of them from the Square, Durrow on Saturday! (Brian Cowen's constituency!)
