Belfast mayor Alex Maskey, turned up at the closed Richardsons plant in the docks/york st, to highlight and support the sacked workforce's protest against the sudden closure of Richardsons/ICI plants in belfast and dublin.
Alex Maskey reiterated the sacked workforces demands, for proper redundency payments, after the Richardsons/ICI's suddenly closed their plants in Belfast and Dublin, making thousands of Richardsons/ICI employees redundent before Christmas. Employees find themselves dumped on the scrapheap without consultation or adequate redundencies payments to tide them over Christmas.
