The recent successes of Pat Rabbitte and Liz McManus could lead to a coup in the Labour Party
The Labour Party could have a coup and remove Rabbitte, McManus and DeRossa. It appears that the DL hostile takeover of the Labour Party has been successful.
The Labour leadership has used the 'taking us over' excuse as a way to expell the Militant Tendency in the 1980s.
However it's believed that Rabbitte and co are adement that they are not trying to 'take over' the Labour Party. Rabbitte pointed out that unlike the Militant Tendency, DL are not calling for Labour to be elected on a socialist programme. Rabbitte is sticking by his reformist credentials and is advocating Labour to power on a reformist programme.
When contacted Liz McManus TD, the newly elected Deputy Leader, commented that "we're not a bit like the Militant, they were socialists!", she added "anyway back then Labour had thousands of active members and it had a vibrant youth section, now it's a capitalist party with an aging dwindling membership".

Jump To Comment: 1 2If there is going to be a coup in the "labour" party, might I humbly suggest that General Pinochet be appointed to lead it. Instead of the national stadium in Chile, Croke Park could be used.
I thought that there would be more comments to my posting about the possible expulsion of the DL Tendency of the Labour Party
