Pensioners ignored in Nice debate

Of all the coverage on Nice, very little has been directed at pensioners

It is time that pensioners were told the truth about the intentions of the EU and in particular organisations who live in the shadows such as UNICE and the European Roundtable of Industrialists, and its creature the “EU Commission” in relation to their future for pensions. The “EU Commission” have talked about pensions in such terms as being a “time bomb” It is well known in the corridors of power, but it is being kept a secret from Irish pensioners that the above groups plan to make a killing at our expense when they privatise pensions. They are using the “Chilean” model to bring this about. It has been given no coverage but European pensioner organisations were to the fore in the street protests in France during the run up to the negotiations on the Nice treaty.
