point made (!) that 300,000 right wing "white blockers" are presently safely distracted and holed up in the holy city away from their usual machinations in such places as Spain and Ireland.
Perhaps if there were no Nice ref. Mr Barrett would be there too. Pope JP2 is sick but not about to die. There are 600,000 more "white block" from the left wing (liberation theology) due to turn up in Rome before he does. [wait for the Küng/Boff v. Opus Dei/Ratzinger showdown]
So as we leave the Rome theatre of geo-political game play let us note that the current strategic status of world religious sites is:
Jerusalem: chaos
Rome: preparation for chaos
Tibet: unpleasant
Mecca: dodgey
