It seems, judging by media reports that it is the end of the line for Dessie, as a decision is imminent from the Justice Minister McDowell, which will decide if Dessie will be released.
It seems, judging by media reports that it is the end of the line for Dessie, as a decision is imminent from the Justice Minister
McDowell, which will decide if Dessie will be released. If the decision
goes against Dessie by whatever manufactured reasons, there is no legal
option open to him, other than:
(A) Taking his case to the courts of human rights, which could take years
to be heard,
(B) He seeks through the courts a repatriation order to his country of
origin as a means of seeking release under the terms of the GFA.
Lets hope that Mc Dowell has the integrity and honesty to base his decision
within the legalities and confines of the GFA and not on a Political
Decision.
Here's hoping that the next headline on the internal site will
be:
DESSIE O' HARE RELEASED

Freedom for Dessie, or repatriation to the north, Dessie is a prisoner of war, and should be entitled to full political prisoner status in the north.
