On 11 September a small number of pixies gathered in St. Stephen's Green to plant a crab apple tree in comeration to all victims of war and oppression. Colourful banners declaring the famous "Love Changes Everything" and "Peace" were hung at the children's playground, a tree and a shovel were produced, and the diging began.
Within a matter of minutes, three irate and very very confused park wardens came to our attention. Stating that the park was private property under the ownership of Dublin City Council, they shortly called the police to put a stop to this most criminal act. In minutes, driving at high speed on the grass where childern and dogs played, our heroes - protectors of our fine grassy public lawns - came to the rescue and prevented us few dangerous 'hippies' from committing the crime of 'criminal damage'. Threatening us, and the tree with arrest, and generally showing their arrogance, we were ordered out of the park, but not without the cheering support of the large crowd of spectators whose day we had enlightened.
Since then, the tree has been taken to a safe home, away from the murderous hands of B107 and B103.....
Tear up the concrete!!
