category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday March 20, 2002 13:22author by flabergastedauthor email Kaosracket77 at aol dot com Report this post to the editors

or maybe its just my crap server?

Cant seem to access any of the IMC sites apart from Israel and Ireland, cant even access the ones here in Australia. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

I hope this is just a server fault and not something sinister!!

It looks like the Irish IMC made the right decision in using 3rd Party hosting for indymedia.ie. Lots of little hosting arrangements are a lot more secure than once big, central hosting arrangement!

Same thing happened last week..all the sites that are stored on the central indymedia.org system are down, while ourselves and other sites with their own servers are OK...so you can get here by way of ireland.indymedia.org but the pages are on www.indymedia.ie and thus stand alone!

I suppose it's a good sign, in one way, that the main Indymedia system is so much in use that it keeps falling down.

This isn't an Indymedia server issue. All three
DNS servers that are authoritative for the
indymedia.org domain know nothing about it.
(the server are: ns1.riseup.net,
black.cat.org.au, and fs.freespeech.org)
I find it odd that servers with riseup.net,
freespeech.org, and cat.org.au would all have
this problem at the same time.
The root name servers still show indymedia.org to
be existant.

Same thing, still no access to the indymedia.org sites, does anybody know what is happening?
