ANTI WAR CONFERENCE CALLS NATIONAL DEMONSTRATION
The Irish Anti-War Movement conference last weekend in Dublin was a good success has called a major demonstration in Dublin for September 28th
There were reps there from the Green Party,Galway Peace Alliance, Cork Alliance Against War, US Citizens for Alternatives to War, Maynooth against
War, Belfast against War, Socialist Workers Party, Pax Christie and many other groups and individuals.
This means the IAWM is now a national movement.
Coming out of the Conference two major mobilisations have also been organised.
The first is the National Demo in Dublin on November 28th 3pm from the Garden of Remembrance Parne;ll Square Dublin.
The IAWM is throwing all its energies into building the biggest possible demonstration. There will be a demonstration in London on the same day and the organisers there expect over a quarter of a million to protest.
For the Irish demo, groups outside Dublin, including Derry and Belfast, are booking coaches and organising broad platform public meetings in their cities to build for this major demo.
The Irish Anti War Movement conference also agreed to use the September 28th
demo as a springboard to build a mass protest in Shannon sometime in
October.
