"Indymedia.ie: a critical space for social movements in Ireland"

Notice of a newly-published account of Indymedia.ie

Margaret Gillan (CMN) and I have just published this chapter in Rosie Meade and Fiona Dukelow's new book "Defining events: power, resistance and identity in 21st century Ireland".

The chapter (and the book) are really aimed more at people who may not know much about what Indymedia is and has been, so it really just scratches the surface in terms of an analysis. Needless to say we hope it might spark some more in-depth and participatory / activist research but it may still be interesting for Indymedia participants.

The chapter was written in 2013 but the book has only just come out (the disadvantages of print publishing). Below is a link to a pre-proof version of the chapter.
