When Dicey summarised the principle of parliamentary sovereignty he wrote: "Parliament can do everything but make a woman a man and a man a woman." Alas, thanks to the European Court of Human Rights, that's no longer true.

It's increasingly clear the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan. But could it have been made in the USA? Will Jones suggests the behaviour of the Chinese Government before and after the sequence was published gives us a clue.

PROTEST: Housing is a Right not a Privilege!

category dublin | anti-capitalism | event notice author Thursday September 11, 2014 21:42author by On the 2nd of October members of An Spréach and D8HAC will b Report this post to the editors

On the 2nd of October at 12pm members of An Spréach and D8HAC will be brought before the courts for Hearing on politically motivated trumped-up charges pertaining to an incident in Tom Kelly Flats, where the housing activists were investigating whether it was feasible or not to house people in need in some of the empty and unused vacant flats, within the complex.

It wasn’t long before the hired goons of the state arrived on the scene and quickly hampered any plans made as they arrested all eight activists, charging them with trespass. This is the typical reaction that is to be expected from the state whenever people try to organise themselves, and serves to deter the working class from taking matters into their own hands, challenging the political hegemony of the state.

Undeterred, An Spréach vow to carry on the fight for decent adequate housing for all, and would appeal to all likeminded persons to come along and show your solidarity for the housing activists who are being dragged before the system, and let us show the state and powers that be, that WE won’t be bullied, or intimidated by state repression!

Housing is a right not a privilege!
Working Class insubordination!

An Spréach.

If it wasnt for HUMAN OVERPOPULATION,the demand for housing and this ''housing crisis'' wouldnt exist..

We need to tackle human overpopulation first..

Some parts of the world i.e.Pakistan and India, may be described as densely populated, but this is not the case in Ireland. Out migration by qualified young people from Ireland is so high that it can be said we are experiencing population shrinkage. Ireland now needs a higher birth rate to compensate for the people we have lost. Let us be fruitful and multiply. We need more social housing projects, in Dublin and elsewhere. Things are too critical to be left to the private building trade.

Just because we dont suffer overpopulation here, doesn't mean one day we will soon suffer it...Immigration into ireland is driving down job wages and it is going to eventually drive up house prices..
Its not rocket science, anybody even the dog in the street can figure this one out...

Why is the solution to everything to overpopulate????It DESTROYS the climate, wildlife and other endanngered species they need a home too....

Humans are the one real pest on the planet,i don't understand when humans refer to certain animals as pests, humans are the one species hoarding up the earth like a pack of locusts...It needs to stop.

We need to have the most important conversation of our time and that is about OVERPOPULATION...

Too much, human activity is the one killer of this planet..

By all means go and write an article about overpopulation.
However this post is about a specific housing action by an spreach.
Please stop posting off topic here. Any further off topic material about overpopulation etc will be hidden. Stick to the topic of the article.
Thanks
Wageslave
