Hackett (1892-1976), who recently had a bridge named after her in Dublin, was a teenage activist of the Irish Women Workers Union. Gurley Flynn (1890-1964), whose mother came from Loughrea, was also a teenage radical, but with the Wobbly movement in the US. 'Rebel Girl' was a song inspired by Gurley Flynn, which was written by Joe Hill.
