Picket for Indian Maoist POWs outside Indian Embassy Dublin

International Day of Action for Indian Maoist POWs.

This event was put together by a number of groups and independents at the request of POWs in Port Laoise who asked that it be promoted to all of the Irish People on behalf of the MLM Freedom Fighters and the Prisoners of the Peoples War in India. Picket at 12pm and its outside the Indian Embassy, 6 Leeson Park, Dublin 6.

Maith déanta do gach duine a tháinig amach sa droch aimsir inniú. Well done to all who turned out today - a very successful protest - particularly given the weather. Particular mention needs to be given to the RNU, RSF, IRSP and Cumann Seáin Mhic Eachaidh. Good to see that Irish Republicans are to the fore when it comes to international Workers Revolution. Is the red cross/red crescent taking any interest in the Maoist POWs? Where is the war and how long has it been going on?

Actually, the Red Cross and Medicine Sans Frontiers have been accused of assisting the Maoists, by treating wounded Volunteers. But, presumably they treat wounded Indian state forces just the same. The conflict is at it strongest along whats called the Red Corridor, which is nearly all of Eastern India. You can read more about the conflict here.
