Film showing at Seomra Spraoi about framing and jailing of Native American activists Leonard Peltier
Leonard Peltier was jailed after a shootout in 1975 in which two FBI and one Native American were killed and he is still in a US prison today -- one of the longest-serving US prisoners. He is now an ill man, suffering from diabetes.
The film examines the incident and the evidence on which Peltier was convicted, in the context of a reign of terror by corrupt authorities on the Pine Ridge reservation which included many murders, with resistance by the American Indian Movement and repression by the FBI.
A short talk afterwards will explain the aims of the campaign and answer questions.
There will also be some DVDs, badges etc. on sale.
There is a recommended charge but entry will not be refused to those unable to pay.
