USA , Italy , Spain etc : street pickets to be held.
In October 2011 Irish Republicans in six European countries organised the first International Day of Action for Irish Republican Prisoners of War. The situation of the protesting prisoners in Maghaberry has worsened in the previous months. Hence Irish Republicans set up the independent International Coordination Committee “Support the POWs!” to hold the second International Day of Action for Irish Republican POWs.
This year, on Saturday 27th October, the International Day of Action will be organised as a worldwide day of action with events in Sydney, New York City and various European cities such as Rome, Vienna, London, Utrecht, Paris, Darmstadt and Hamburg.
International Day for POWs to be held on Saturday October 27th 2012.
Republican Sinn Féin International spokesperson Dieter Blumenfeld is part of the International Coordination Committee which was set up to organise the International Day of Action. In a statement Blumenfeld said: “More and more Irish men and women are interned by imperialist forces. Belfast republican Alan Lundy and Vinnie Ryan, who was arrested for attending his brother’s funeral, are just the most recent examples. Our comrade Martin Corey is interned since spring 2010 and Marian Price spent twelve of the last 16 months in isolation. It is important that all international activists show their continued support for the Irish republican prisoners. We have chosen October 27th as the date of the second International Day. This day is the anniversary of the 1980-Hungerstrikes. It should be a reminder to all Irish republicans that we must do everything we can to make sure that never again Irish men are forced to die on Hungerstrike in English or Irish jails.”

Hi !
On Saturday 27th October 2012 , there were some 16 protests in 11 countries on three continents such as New York, Sydney, Rome, London, Rome, Manchester, Toronto, Paris,Glasgow, Hamburg, Colorado, Darmstadt, Dusseldorf, Magdeburg, Utrecht or
Goteborg, as well as in Dublin, Galway and Lurgan in Ireland , in support of Irish Republican political prisoners.
The Dublin event , at which 500 Irish Republican leaflets were distributed, was held without incident but not so in Armagh (where an RSF Ard Chomhairle member was arrested by armed representatives of the British State) or in Hamburg , in Germany, where armed police broke-up the demonstration.
More details and a few pics can be seen at the 'Related Link' , below.
