Trucks Stopped On Shell's Corrib Haulage Route

This morning work was held up at the Shell Glengad and Aughoose compounds by a truck occupation.

Rossport solidarity campers and locals blocked trucks on the haulage route from the Ballinaboy refinery and then someone climbed up on top of a Walsh’s liquid container truck. They stayed up there for an hour whilst the Gardai milled around helpless on the road below, before picking a moment and making a break for it across the fields. No-one was arrested.

Shell are still years away from pumping gas by their own schedule, and every truck delayed pushes this back further.

Meanwhile pixies pulled up stakes marking the route of the yet-to-be-laid onshore pipeline.

Well done Pixies. Please come up up to County Down and help us with our battle with greedy delevelopers around the shore of Strangford Lough. The money is bad but the beer is good. Mike Mann
