News You Won's Find on the BBC

The rate of Unemployment is 23.3% in Spain, almost 21% in Greece, 15% in Portugal, also 15% in Ireland and almost 7.5% in Germany. It means close to 17 million people were out of work in the first month of 2012, and that's on paper.

Good youtube clip and Good to see PRESS TV news again.

I've missed it since it was removed by sky under pressure from the anti iranian lobbyists

Wouldn't do to have the other side of the story getting out to millions of sky subscribers and freesat users.

Al jazeera has been commandeered, press tv excised. Only RT is left as a news channel to balance western imperialist propaganda. Very sad.

You can still get PRESS TV on the web of course at:
http://www.presstv.com/

and a lot of clips are here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/PressTVGlobalNews

(I think you don't need the daft picture though Brian. Takes away from a serious topic!!)

This story was titled "News you won't find on the BBC Actually you will. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17219160 in a piece titled "Eurozone unemployment continues to rise."

And on RTE: http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0301/eurozone-business.html "Eurozone jobless rate hits record 10.7%"

And in the Irish Independent: http://www.independent.ie/breaking-news/world-news/euro....html

And in the Irish Times, the Examiner, the Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, the Telegragh and just about EVERY mainstream media outlet you care to name (Hint: that's why they're called mainstream)

Not that it was a very difficult story to find - the statistics were released by Eurostat, an official EU agency. So no conspiracy of silence from any "official sources" / MSM cabal. The opposite in fact. Pretty much wall to wall coverage all round. The idea that this story would have gone unnoticed unless PRESSTV was there to "have the other side of the story getting out to millions of sky subscribers and freesat users" is hilarious beyond measure. Especially as this is the same PRESSTV that studiously ignores any sign of dissent in its own country.

Mind you I do miss good old PRESSTV since it vanished off SKY. George "pussycat" Galloway's comedy show "The Real Deal" was always worth tuning in for. His hilarious one-liners - such as saying that Iran doesn't execute gays - have to be heard to be believed. If it's po-faced anti-western propaganda you want, PRESSTV is your channel and George is the man.

If you want factual coverage of economics, stick to the MSM.

Dr. Who the Feck you Looking At certainly did not give the analysis Max Keiser did or clearly articulate the financial terrorism of the banksters?

Brian,

Your "article" on "Europe's Unemployment Crisis" consists of two sentences, one of which lists unemployment rates in some European countries. The second sentence refers to a total of 17m out of work. (BTW the 17m is a Eurozone figure only, the European total is closer 25m for those who like to get a few facts right and in context)

The remainder of your article is a pretty stupid cartoon, a link to some blog and a link to PRESSTV titled "Deepening Dilemma-News Analysis-03-01-2012" No introduction, no context setting, just a link.

You gave the "article" a heading "News You Won't Find on the BBC" (my emphasis) - I simply pointed out that you will find that NEWS on the BBC. That's NEWS not ANALYSIS - as you are apparently a journalist I presume you know the difference. As for the analysis, sure you won't find it on BBC. There's a reason for that - it's shite. Example: Keisers prescription for Greece - they should set up their own ratings agency (yeah, like anyone'd believe that!) and arrest the troika when they come to Greece, send them to the Hague and hang them! (I suppose the arrests would be the easy bit, hanging them in the Hague presents a few practical problems, care to elaborate, Brian? )

Fast forwarding through the rest of the analysys was equally uninspiring and not worth deeper examination. Basically, if you couldn't be bothered to point out why you thought the clip from PRESSTV might be interesting, then I couldn't be bothered looking at it to find out exactly why it isn't. Apart from the fact that Keiser is a relentless self-promoter who thinks we should all buy silver in order to undermine the banking system. Yawn......

Contrarian up to his usual tricks of misrepresenting other people then killing the straw man. This comment of mine was alluding to the other side of the story regarding the systematic sabre rattling and ratcheting up of sanctions and military and media pressure on Iran and the beating of the war drums yet again by western imperialists. The silencing of Press TV was clearly part of this process in preventing millions of people seeing Iran's point of view in all this.

PressTV presented the POV of Iran and as such for the most part was no more biased than any other national news channel. And was definitely better viewing than FOX news for which you would seem to have less of a problem with (since it's seemingly not a target of your ire). I hope you enjoy Bill O'Reilly as much as George Galloway as he's far more comical.

George has gotten a few things wrong (i.e. appearing on big brother) but I think he's still right more often than he is wrong about the endless war policy of the US and the predation of the Israelis on palestine which is more than you can ever say about that slimy cynical liar Bill O'Reilly!! And he's certainly a talented orator.

Here's a clip for you to remind you of what fun O'Reilly is. And what an all round great human being too! ;-)

I think George Galloway on the other hand, got it right here for example , taking sky news to task for their biased coverage.

And here he takes on the US senate:

Great clips. I'm sorry contrarian, but You just can't write this man off with a few cheap smears.

regarding Max keiser, You know very well that max often brings a touch of humour to his show by making sometimes quite hilarious exaggerated statements for effect.

Here's an example of one of his humourous vignettes at the expense of that asshole Lloyd Blankfind:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZYUvpzU3hs

funny!.

Clearly quirky humour is an inherent part of max's show and it must be viewed in this context. I think you just have to laugh occasionally at the kind of brazen necked things that the financial terrorists have done. Otherwise it's just completely depressing what they have gotten away with. Supported by cheerleaders like yourself of course.

However on the serious side, Max has been on the button on many of his financial predictions. Much more so than a compliant and servile media endlessly repeating the cynical press releases of ex goldman sachs crooks such as Geitner etc

regarding the "buy silver" viral campaign, the reasoning behind this is explained succinctly here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCM7rMIqxmk

Max has a good point I think!!!

Max did a show on PressTV called "on the edge" which I will miss as he did some good interviews with people like Michael Hudson :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4T4kJ2KNzk

and other well respected economists such as Professor Steve Keen (seen here on RT).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUTeaF_1sM0

Along with many other excellent documentaries, All of this quality alternative television has been silenced by imperialist "censorship" of PressTV. How very "democratic"! Now we get to watch Psycho bill O'Reilly for longer instead. Ok for folks like yourself perhaps but not so for people who like both sides of a story before making up their minds.

Thanks for the opportunity to make the public aware of some of these clips contrarian. Your handlers will be pleased.

Here's a bonus random clip for anyone who bothered to read this comment:
