Stop Wholesale Evictions

category international | housing | event notice author Monday September 26, 2011 10:13author by PAW - People's Association Watchdog Report this post to the editors

Hundreds of repossessed family homes are reported to be going to auction at the hands of British Group Allsop, This latest round of greedy asset grabbing by speculators is a shameful reflection on the lack of government policy or willingness to help the ordinary family.

On November 30th in Dublin at 10:30am in the Shelbourne Hotel, hundreds of repossessed family homes will be auctioned off adding to the needless hardship of families that have suffered a barrage of austerity measures implemented by the Irish government at the behest of the international banking elite.

We are pleading with anybody that can be there to please show up and stand side by side in a dignified and peaceful display of solidarity with the families affected and to highlight the destructive nature of these needless and socially unacceptable auctions.

I don't think it really matters where the company comes from, you should be thinking about the people affected, and if there are indeed people affected by these sales. Are they sales of family homes? I also don't like the language used by the group, it sounds like a naive and incoherent group. I will probably go all the same as I believe this issue is going to become a point of conflict in Ireland, but I think your group is dreadfully lacking 'direction'; in absence of finding a better word to use.

This latest development shows nothing much has changed and we have now gone back to the past. The only difference is that we were under a thumb of a miltary empire whereas as now it is financial imperialism. Either way the results are the same. Increasing poverty and subjugation of the people.

Well done to the organizers of this protest and best wishes for tomorrow, We need people like you that will stand up for what is right and highlight the wrong that is being done. I think the comment by "No one", is nonsense, I might be an old codger but I see the reason for mentioning it is a british company (I learned in history about the land league and this is very similar). I have started to follow your face book page and it is great to see so many people joining the anti eviction task force. I would love to be fit enough to join your protest but I am not, maybe my son will turn up. It is a great thing you are all doing for your country and keep up the good work, don't mind the begrudgers, you are making a difference. Your Friend and supporter Jim Lonergan
