Photo Exhibition Launch - Food Sovereignty and Youth

LASC (Latin America Solidarity Centre) and The Happy Pear would like to invite you to the Launch of our Photo Exhibition "Food Sovereignty and Youth". The launch takes place in The Happy Pear, Church Road, Greystones on Monday 20th June from 7.30pm - 9.30pm. The exhibition - comprised of a variety of photographs from both Latin America and Ireland - previously ran as part of Latin America Week (LAW) 2011 in Cornucopia and was a great success.

The theme of LAW this year was Food Sovereignty - Growing Alternatives to the Food Crisis. In Ireland and Latin America people are connecting the food they eat with the ground on which they take a stand in Community Gardens, neighbourhood plots, allotments, Grow It Yourself initiatives, community kitchens, neighbourhood bakeries and back yards.

This photographic exhibition, now hosted by The Happy Pear weaves the stories of our next generations, North and South, into a web of solidarity as they root our future in the common ground of food sovereignty.

We will have a guest speaker (to be confirmed) to launch the exhibition and talk a little bit about Food Sovereignty. We hope you can join us for some music, food, wine and games.
